Acacia fimbriata
With fern like soft foliage, this Acacia is a valuable addition to any large garden. Usually flowers once a year and for quite a short period of time. Can be pruned but gently; a heavy pruning will kill the plant.
Small tree or rounded shrub to 5m high by 6m across. The flowerheads are highly perfumed. Attracts bees.

History, meaning of the name
From the Greek word akazo, which means “to sharpen” or “point”. It can also mean “spine” or “thorn”. Fimbriata From the Latin word fimbria, which means “fringe”. This refers to the microscopic hairs along the phyllodes, or leaves, of the plant.

Native to much of the east coast of Australia.
